The Mk1 Golf GTI

A change in lifestyle has bought about by the arrival of twin boys. Time and money for hobbies dramatically reduced and it was time to sell the MG (and my boats). I did a lot of thinking and research but it wasn’t easy as I wanted the car to do a lot of things. It needed to be able to sprint and hillclimb competitively, be old enough for classic rallies and, most importantly be reliable and guaranteed to start. This last part is because of a change in our car portfolio – specifically the need to have a car big enough to transport the boys and their gear. This meant selling the Boxster and my wife’s Yarris.
